Vasili grachev milepost restaurant

This is a truly magnificent antique Russian bronze sculpture after Vasily Grachev ( ) titled ''The Milepost'' and dating from the early 20th Century.

 

The bronze depicting a troika led by a team of three horses with driver and two passengers, passing a milepost on a rutted road, with a gorgeous dark brown patina and mounted on a slate and marble rounded base.

 

The bronze is signed in Cyrillic on one side with the artist''s signature and the other side has the foundry mark

 

 

This high-quality hot cast solid bronze was produced using the traditional ''lost wax'' process, otherwise known as the ''cire perdue'' method.

 

 

This is a splendid antique bronze sculpture of the Russian school, which is sure to receive the maximum amount of attention wherever it is placed.
